Jazz formation Triology presents acoustic concept of a piano trio. This
project started after a long collaboration of these musicians with soloists such as Martin
Uherek or Lukáš Oravec. Founding members of the trio are pianist Jakub Tököly and
double bassist Peter Korman. Their admiration and respect for jazz tradition and geniuses
of European classical music influenced these them in such a way, that they decided to
create their own project, in which they could incorporate all these aspects, thus realizing
their musical vision together through musical interaction.
Each of the members has collaborated with many renowned artists of the jazz scene, but
their main shared idea is to create music that is connected to the present era, while at the
same time remebering the history and development of musical composition and
Progressive colorful playing of pianist Jakub Tököly, combined with an earthy sound
and swinging pulse of double bassist Peter Korman and in symbiosis with dynamic and
expressive support of drummer Peter Solárik, Nothing but New trio creates an
extraordinary musical experience.
The band’s repertoire includes mainly original compositions of the band members,
inspired by jazz greats such as Bud Powell, Miles Davis or Kenny Kirkland, African-
American gospel music but also melodic delicacy and urgency of the French
Impressionism. At the same time the trio enjoys interpretation of the greatest jazz
compositions, by Duke Ellington, George Gershwin, Thelonious Monk or Herbie
Next year the band is releasing their debut CD, which presents the result of their
collaboration over the past year. It features original compositions by Jakub Tököly and
Peter Korman. The most significant titles are Nothing New, Nocturne La Nuit and Blues
For Monk, as well as arranged jazz standard I Thought about You. Recording took place
in recording studio Studio na Orlí in Brno, Czech Republic.
Nothing but New trio also enjoys cooperation with an alto saxophonist from a
famous Roma musical family, Jan Fečo. This young musician brings energy, virtuosity,
sense of melody and is gradually becoming an unmistakable element of the band.
Hi-Fly Trio Róbert Ragan Jr. Project
Hi-Fly Trio is a new musical project that combines several musical styles from jazz to RnB and Hip Hop elements.
Young , strong personalities met in the trio – its founder, bassist and bass guitar player Róbert Ragan Jr.
accompanied by pianist Jakub Tököly and drummer Kristián Kuruc.
Their music is influenced mainly by music of Robert Glasper, Miles Davis and Jaco Pastorius.
Trio plays on concerts also compositions of mentioned authors beside authors compositions of memebers of the trio.
